Richie brings significant passion and expertise to every project. He strives to make each set a fun, yet efficient environment that ultimately glorifies Christ throughout production.
He and Bethany live in Franklin, Tennessee, with their two Pembroke Welsh Corgis.
Our goal is to show that these biblical characters were just like us
Sure, they had bread falling from heaven and water spouting from a rock. And, yes, they followed pillars of cloud and fire through the desert…
But, they were also ordinary people who tried their best, made mistakes, and learned how to live in peace. Well, eventually.
How one simple idea turned into a whole production
Summer 2021
Writing the Pilot
While working on The Chosen, Mitch Hudson began writing scripts for The Promised Land, a series based on a concept by associate producer Sydney Jarm, capturing the humanity, humor, and awkward realities of Moses' story.
Fall 2021
Scouting the Desert
Finding the right location meant finding the perfect mix of red rocks, desert sand, and just enough civilization to sustain a film set.
October 2022
Lights, Camera, Exodus
The pilot episode was filmed on location in Carlsbad, New Mexico, with a small and passionate cast and crew.
Between the dust, the heat, the rain, and the early mornings, the team captured the first chapter of this ancient story.
May – July 2024
40 Days & 40 Nights
Leading up to the pilot release, the team launched a 40-day long grassroots marketing campaign across social media to build anticipation and grow an early community of fans.
Pre-release screenings of the pilot at various colleges and universities sparked an early buzz.
July 1, 2024
The Pilot Goes Public
When the pilot launched on YouTube, it quickly attracted an audience.
Within weeks, thousands of new viewers were discovering The Promised Land and fans were (politely) demanding more.
Late 2024 – 2025
Season One in the Works
